The Sea to Sky Teachers' PD Fund is disbursed through the SSTA Office. However, each school administers their own PD funds based on decisions made by their school-level committees.
If you have questions or would like to know how much money is available for your PD activities, speak to your PD Rep or call us at the SSTA office.
phone: 604-892-3056 or email: Kathleen Stanford, PD Chair, at pd48@bctf.ca
Our final Pro-D day, Friday May 9th, is being planned by school-based PD committees. Any schools hosting events that are open to teachers from other schools will be posted here, otherwise, please check in with your school's PD committee to find out what is being planned.

PHILOSOPHY OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Sea to Sky Teachers Association and the Board supports the principles of Professional Development as embraced by the BCTF and BCPSEA.
Definition and Purpose of Professional Development
Professional Development is broadly defined as any activity or event whereby a teacher can update their knowledge or expertise in a field of studies. A teacher may also pursue learning that is beneficial to the teaching profession. There will also be opportunities to keep current of developments in teaching styles or strategies, and to become aware of changes in educational philosophy and education in general.
